V = 9.5;  Size 9.5x4.4;  SB = 13.4;  PA = 23d

17.5": bright, large, very elongated 3:1 SSW-NNE, sharp concentration as 
suddenly increases to a bright stellar nucleus (possibly a superimposed star), 
fairly even surface brightness to halo.  IC 3583 lies 6' NNW.
